Responding to Crisis, Fueling Recovery, Changing Lives
In 2025, Fuel Relief Fund (FRF) carried out three major deployments across the United States and the Caribbean—each responding to a different type of disaster, but all driven by the same mission: ensuring access to fuel when it matters most.
From wildfires and floods to international disaster response, FRF delivered critical fuel and energy resources to hospitals, first responders, aid organizations, and families—helping communities stabilize, recover, and rebuild.
January 2025: LA Wildfires Deployment
From January 14–24, 2025, Fuel Relief Fund deployed to Southern California in response to the Eaton and Palisades Fires, with operations on the ground. While fuel infrastructure across the region largely remained intact, many displaced families faced ongoing challenges accessing resources as they navigated evacuation, temporary housing, and the early stages of recovery.
Recognizing that traditional bulk fuel distribution was not the most effective solution, FRF adapted quickly to meet the moment. The team procured and distributed prepaid fuel gift cards through churches, hotels, and direct outreach to impacted families. In total, FRF distributed 664 prepaid fuel gift cards valued at $50 each, providing $33,200 in direct fuel support and approximately 6,640 gallons of fuel. Although donation response during this deployment was lower than in more conventional fuel operations, FRF was able to respond without delay by leveraging prior-year surplus funds—ensuring families had immediate access to transportation and essential services during a critical recovery window.
July 2025: TX Hill Country Flood Deployment
From July 9–16, 2025, Fuel Relief Fund responded to severe flooding in the Texas Hill Country, supporting volunteer-led recovery efforts in Ingram and Center Point, Texas. The FRF Team coordinated fuel support to ensure response teams and equipment could operate without interruption in challenging conditions.
During this deployment, FRF focused on keeping volunteers moving and heavy equipment running as debris removal and cleanup efforts intensified. A total of 18,401 gallons of fuel were distributed to power vehicles and machinery critical to recovery operations. In addition, approximately 140 gallons of supporting fluids—including DEF, bar and chain oil, and two-stroke oil—were provided to maintain equipment reliability. Fuel access proved essential in accelerating cleanup efforts and restoring access to flood-impacted communities.
November/December 2025: Jamaican Deployment
Hurricane Melissa struck Jamaica on October 28, 2025, as the strongest hurricane in the country’s history, leaving widespread damage and cutting off power, water, and essential services. Roads were blocked and communities were isolated, making emergency response difficult. Fuel Relief Fund (FRF) deployed to Jamaica on November 2 to support critical infrastructure, first responders, and families in the immediate aftermath of the storm.
During Phases 1 and 2, FRF focused on stabilizing hospitals, emergency services, and relief supply chains in southwestern Jamaica. Teams fueled multiple hospitals and a field hospital, powered generators at police stations, supported aid distribution centers, and delivered fuel directly to communities alongside food, water, and relief supplies. In these early phases, FRF provided 9,900 gallons of gasoline and diesel and 2,500 gallons of propane, helping keep essential services running when they were needed most.
In Phase 3, FRF shifted to supporting daily life and recovery in rural and remote communities. The team distributed 1,200 propane tanks (8,700 gallons) and additional gasoline and diesel, reaching hard-to-access mountain and coastal areas through strong local partnerships. During six weeks on the ground, from November 2 through December 13, FRF delivered more than 22,100 gallons of gasoline, diesel, and propane, helping Jamaican communities move from crisis toward recovery.
One Mission, Lasting Impact
In 2025, Fuel Relief Fund responded to disasters across Southern California, the Texas Hill Country, and Jamaica—adapting fuel solutions to meet urgent needs during wildfires, flooding, and a multi-phase international response. Each deployment reinforced our commitment to delivering fuel where access meant safety, continuity, and recovery.
Across these efforts, FRF distributed over 47,200 gallons of gasoline, diesel, and propane, powering hospitals, first responders, aid partners, volunteers, and families. As disasters continue to intensify, support Fuel Relief Fund’s mission to fuel response, resilience, and recovery when communities need it most.
