Recapping the 2026 Fuel Relief Fund Classic

On Friday, April 10, 2026, golfers, sponsors, and supporters came together at the Golf Club of Houston for the second annual Fuel Relief Fund Classic, presented by our longtime partner RelaDyne LLC. What started as a fun day on the course turned into another powerful reminder of how much this community shows up for Fuel Relief Fund’s mission: one swing, one sponsorship, and one conversation at a time.

This year’s tournament also came with a test of dedication: the morning brought pouring rain, and it was still sprinkling by the time play got underway. Our resilient golfers didn’t let the rain dampen the day. Turnout stayed strong, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who showed up, stuck it out, and played anyway. That kind of commitment says a lot about this community.

A Day Built for Connection and Cause

The tournament kicked off with a 1:30 PM shotgun start, bringing together teams for a 4-person scramble format. Golfers competed for prizes on gross scores, took their shot at hole-in-one opportunities, and tackled a full slate of on-course competitions throughout the afternoon.
But the day was about more than the golf. It was a chance for our community to come together, put faces to the mission, and remember why we do this work so that when the next storm hits, Fuel Relief Fund is ready to respond.

Thank You to Our Sponsors

The businesses and organizations that step up with sponsorship and participation are what make this event so successful. Huge thanks to our presenting sponsor, RelaDyne LLC, whose partnership with Fuel Relief Fund goes far beyond the golf course – RelaDyne & Sun Coast Resources is also the partner behind the dedicated tanker and driver that support our hurricane response deployments year-round.

Thank you as well to our Gold Sponsor, Houston Freightliner Western Star, and our Silver Sponsors: Cummins & White LLP, the Honcharik Family, Flint Hills Resources, Highline Warren, and Musket Corporation.

And a sincere thank-you to the full roster of sponsors who made the 2026 Classic possible, including National Concrete Washout, Chastang Ford, the Cady Family, Coyle Capital, Oilmens, Rinehart Oil, Trailers of Texas, Shell Lubricants, RAASM, PT Couplings, Stately Oaks Properties, Commerce Bank, Global Partners, Gravitate, American Eagle Transport LLC, Anabi Oil, Rebel, SAS Petroleum, American Lubrication Equipment, and Southern Counties Lubricants. Every sponsorship from Tee sponsor to Title sponsor goes directly toward fueling our next deployment.

Why It Matters

Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and players, the 2026 Fuel Relief Fund Classic raised $201,000 in fundraising income plus an additional $11,000 in in-kind contributions, bringing total support to $212,000 for Fuel Relief Fund.

Every dollar raised at the Fuel Relief Fund Classic goes toward the same mission our volunteers carry out on the ground during every disaster response: getting fuel to families, hospitals, first responders, and shelters in the critical hours and days after a storm hits. A day on the golf course in Houston, TX, rain, and all, translates directly into fuel in a generator, gas in an evacuating family’s tank, and relief for a community that’s been through the worst.

Events like this one are also how Fuel Relief Fund keeps growing its network: connecting with new sponsors, new volunteers, and new supporters who want to be part of the response before disaster strikes, not just after.

Looking Ahead

The 2026 Classic marked another step in what’s becoming an annual tradition in Texas, and we’re already looking forward to bringing the tournament back next year. If you missed this year’s event and want to be part of the next one as a player, sponsor, or volunteer reach out to Kelli Francis at kfrancis@fuelrelieffund.org to get on the list early.

To everyone who golfed, sponsored, volunteered, or simply showed up to support, thank you. Days like this one are what keep Fuel Relief Fund ready to respond the moment a community needs us.
