Fuel Relief Fund’s Critical Role
FRF has deployed to disaster zones worldwide, providing emergency fuel to communities in need. Whether setting up temporary fueling stations, purchasing, and donating propane tanks, or distributing prepaid fuel cards, the organization adapts its approach to ensure fuel gets where it’s needed most.
During the recent Eaton Fire in Los Angeles, FRF volunteers distributed prepaid gas cards to over 660 families in Altadena and Pasadena, helping them rebuild their lives. While traditional FRF deployments involve setting up temporary fuel stations, the presence of intact gas stations meant that fuel cards were the most effective way to help those affected.
“The mission of Fuel Relief Fund is simple but critical: to provide fuel and energy resources during natural disasters and crisis situations,” explains Charlie Cady, Co-chair of the Fuel Relief Fund Board of Directors. “Whether it’s fueling first responders, or powering generators to help communities affected get back on their feet, we deliver energy and hope when needed most.”
