May 16, 2011 Alabama was swept by lethal tornados and severe storms in April 2011. Homes were destroyed and loved ones were lost. Families are now in the process of rebuilding their homes and their lives. Fuel Relief Fund has contributed to the recovery process by donating fuel cards to Soles of Hope and Hackleburg Helping Hands in Alabama. These charities are able to continue providing aid to their communities through the use of fuel cards by fueling the vehicles that are transporting needed supplies to survivors, or giving the fuel cards to the recovering families.

Relief Fund was in Japan from March 20 through April 18, 2011.

The devastation in Japan was incredible. After assessing the situation, it was clear that fuel in the form of heating oil was a necessity for many. At night in the coastal areas most affected by the earthquake and the tsunami that followed, the temperatures dropped to below freezing. We gave away almost 80,000 liters of heating oil and estimate that we kept over 35,000 people warm at night during our stay in Japan. We want to thank all of you who have donated to this effort.

Fuel Relief Fund originated out of a quest to provide a basic fuel source for victims immediately following the devastation of a natural disaster.
In 1992, a board member of Fuel Relief Fund, was living on the west coast. Several of his family members lived in Florida and were victims of Hurricane Andrew’s destruction. Immediately following the hurricane, countless people found themselves unprepared and ill equipped to provide the basic essentials of life for their families. It was immediately evident that gasoline was one of those essentials!Read more
