Destroyed gas stations after hurricane Katrina

When natural disasters strike, they can have devastating effects on the local communities. Wiping out electricity and vital assets needed for survival. Gas stations that once provided fuel to the community can be destroyed in the wake of a hurricane. Below are some images of destruction left by hurricane Katrina in 2005.

Fuel Relief Fund originated out of a quest to provide a basic fuel source for victims immediately following the devastation of a natural disaster.
In 1992, a board member of Fuel Relief Fund, was living on the west coast. Several of his family members lived in Florida and were victims of Hurricane Andrew’s destruction. Immediately following the hurricane, countless people found themselves unprepared and ill equipped to provide the basic essentials of life for their families. It was immediately evident that gasoline was one of those essentials!
